  -take a picture of the plate on the motor or generator for the voltage and amperage

  -measure the thickness, width with calipers and approximate length

  -measure the angles or spring diameter (if applicable)

  -measure the length of the wire and shape and size of the connector or top diameter

   (slot,  hole, flag terminal, ear or round button)

  -application, equipment and enviroment (low humidity, high altitude, plastic plant)
